Let's go ahead and get real basic here. No emotion, just the fact's. Personally I have circulated untold dollar's into my local ecconomy, that reached much further with time. I commercial fished for 18 year's (after serving this Country for 4 year's, by the way my wife did, my father did and my father-in law did the same), with crew share's, fish house share, ice house share, fuel, tackle, net's, mortgage payment's, grocerie's, welder's, electronic's, rail way's, State and Federal Permit's, State and Federal Taxes, etc........ You get the point! Of all the dollar's I stocked very little was kept by me, most went to "all of the above". This is how the economy work's, it's cash in flow. You (the Gov't) put an end to fishing and the "flow" stop's. I am no longer in the fishing business, (that's another story that has to do with the Gov't shutting another viable tax generating business down) but I now do recreational fish. I have no idea how much money is spent on this habit. I really don't ry to keep track of it, if I did I'd probably quit it too. But the truth is I'm not taking any of it with me when I leave here, just as well enjoy something in life. Fishing is what I work for, why I am willing to pay taxes.
Please explain to me how I am harming anyone with my liesure time. If it start's with something as harmless as fishing, my question would be where will it end? Frank
