Anthony's Ark is a blowboater
How did we get here?
For me, the sea has been a way of life -- literally -- ever since I can remember. My family goes back many, many generations having earned their livings on and around the water. From commercial fishing, to passenger boat captains, to some of the men who captained the sailing ships that brought the early colonists to this country from England.
For my part, I depend on fishing for a significant part of my annual income. I fish commercially and run charters in the warmer months. The very fact that we're even having this conversation is shows just how out-of-touch our political "leaders" have become.
Take note: there appears to be slow but steady return of common sense across this great country of ours. Just look at some of the recent elections -- NJ, VA, and yes, right here in MA. Pay careful attention to the midterms too. If you're an incumbent and out-of-touch, you can kiss your office goodbye. Good riddance too.
The economic impact of recreational fishing alone is estimated at something close to $100B. Those dollars are pumped into the economy from tens of millions of fishermen -- and voters. All of whom are watching with keen interest. Choose wisely.
