The Simrad AP22 autopilots continue the tradition in autopilot making that has received every NMEA award since 1984. With it ergonomic design and new software, the AP22 autopilots establish new standards in autopilot excellence. The AP22 can be easily programmed for either power or sail operation. Standard features highly prized by countless satisfied customers include proportional rate rudder control, automatic sea-state filter and automatic tuning of steering parameters. As a safety feature from one location you can even lock out all the other control heads. The marine industry's standard (NMEA) is our protocol. This makes it simple to integrate all equipment manufactured by Simrad. No complicated data conversions are necessary when you deal with Simrad equipment. Several compass options, including an interface to Robertson gyros are offered to meet special requirements. A comprehensive range of drive units and drive electronics are available to properly customize your autopilot to your vessels characteristics. A selection of remote controls provides electrical hand steering to ease the maneuvering of your boat. The AP22 is the compact model for vessels with limited console space.
