Surfjet Surf Jet Surf-Jet Jetski Jet Ski Jet-Ski SeaDoo Vehicle Description 1985 SS 236 Surfjet in great shape. This is the shortboard version. It has a Subaru 255cc 15hp motor, cdi electronic ignition and a hydraulic throttle. I have owned this surfjet for the past 15 or so years. My dad bought it from a neighbor when we lived in Florida. He took it apart, painted it yellow, cleaned the gas tank and carb, replaced the plugs, bled the throttle and it fired up and worked perfectly. I used it probably a dozen times on the lake we lived on in FL, then brought it to CA. I painted it with House of Kolor auto paint: Planet Shimrin Green with a Kandy Lime Gold in the clear about 10 years ago and used it twice in Marina del Rey. Then it sat in a boat storage yard for years. I would fire it up once in awhile, but it has not been wet in about 10 years. I hadn't started it in the last 4-5 years, so I cleaned the gas tank and carb, sourced a new fuel primer bulb from a weed eater, mixed up some premix, bled the throttle and it fired right up and revs and idles just as it should. The transom had some damage from the aluminum dolly that it sits on, so I just fiberglassed it up and painted it with some flat black. I removed the throttle reservoir and plugged it off and this seems to work better. It does leak down after a few days of sitting, but will work perfectly and extend to full throttle for a few days before it loses pressure. I always had to bleed the throttle every few days anyway, which is simple once you know how. The paint has suffered a few scratches from careless people running their boat trailers into it, but it is still very presentable and looks very cool and the scratches could be covered wih some strategically placed stickers. I would recommend the new owner flip the hull over and go over it with a fine tooth comb, just to make sure it is completely watertight. As stated: it has been dry for about 10 years, so now is the perfect time to make sure it is tight. There is at least 1 Surfjet "Guru" out there that has extra replacement/ performance parts and there is a very helpful website in support of any service/ maintenance/ performance/ etc. you need. Included in the sale is a parts manual, fins, and the aluminum dolly. If needed I will build a crate and drop it off at a local shipper for $75 on top of the auction price. Please keep in mind that this thing weighs probably 125-150 lbs and would need a crate approximately 3' x 3' x 9', plus the weight of the crate. I have never tried to register/ title it, but I will be glad to provide a bill of sale. I believe disclosing the reserve price somewhat defeats the purpose of an auction, so I will not disclose it at this time. The reserve I set is what I need to get in order to sell it, otherwise I will keep it.
