Its funny you should mention that. We are doing a strange paint job on them. A couple primer coats of this really strange green, then a couple top coats of this tropical blue. Then we will take an abrasive sponge and lightly sand through on corners etc. so that the green primer shows through the blue.
I know there is a name for this, but I don't know what it is.
We decided the house looked too formal, and we are going to tropic it up a bit. This is going to do a lot of that. It's visually pretty electric. I will post some photos of it, although it's still in the garage waiting for me to figure out how to get it's two hundred pounds up the hill to the house.
In the meantime, here are some more photos of our kayak trip saturday. After we left the cave we pedalled over to check out Osprey Rock. It's kinda neat looking up close, too.
We pretty much decided this was as far out into the open we were going to go. It was blowing like heck offshore, and although you can't really tell from the photos with this little pocket camera, it was a good 2-3 foot chop once you got out of the lee of the island.
We decided to stay in the slick water, since we were sitting about two inches above sea level in a flexible boat. With a wet dog.
Looking through between the rocks, you can see the waves were beating up the other side pretty good;
So after messing around the rocks for a while, we got back on the plan and headed north toward Frenchman's Creek. When we got to that little point of land ( Bonefish Point on the charts) we saw some people on the beach ahead of us. We were kinda puzzled, because there are no roads to that point or even near to that point. Maybe they came in the back way by boat...
(more to come)

Visually pretty electric???? not sure I comprehend what that is. Probably knew what that was back in the late 60's early 70's.
okay, I don't know if the colors are going to be true here, and of course by the time they hit your monitor, who knows how accurate they are. But maybe you can get an idea.
The primer coats are this color:
And the top coats are this color
to me, those photos look the same color. They aint. The base coat is a green, top coat a blue.
And when it's dried for a day or two, I will take some 320 grit wet/dry and lightly sand through the top coats on corners, etc. until the primer coat shows through.
I am kinda color blind, but it looks pretty tropically electric to me. And this is just a third of it. Big stuff. 2x10 pressure treated lumber. The desk is going to be 12 feet long.

They look the same to me too... LOL
I'll just have to take a photo in better light once it's done.
Ah, life is so much better now. Glad that the pictures are back. Went back 8 or so pages so I could catch up. Thanks all for getting it figured out...![]()
Sorry about that. I am not sure exactly how it got changed in the first place, but now I know where to look if it happens again.
I see you have one of those garages that you can't park cars in too.
