Tug Yacht Trawler Liveaboard Cruiser 1945 Battle Tug Vehicle Description This U.S. Army Battle Tug, originally built in 1944, has always been professional maintained. It just recently completely 2009 safety inspection. The beam is 25 feet, draft is 6 feet forward - 9 feet aft, it has 4 decks including flybridge, and sleeps 12 comfortably. It is a documented vessel (U.S. ARMY ret ST 893) located in Anacortes, Washington. This tug has 3 cabins, 5 bunks in the focastle, and 4 bunks in the engine room with 2 heads and large shower. There is a completely equipped galley with the original diesel range and an electric GenAir Range plus trash compactor. The boat is well insulated, the large salon is equipped a Track 4 Satellite TV system, intercom phone system throughout. The hull is constructed from 5/8 inch Corten anti-corrosion steel, always protected by 28 zincs, and with a 3 bladed 5 foot diameter prop. In 2006, a WesMar 18 inch 60 horsepower Twin Blade Hydraulic Bow Thruster was installed. Currently, hydraulic power is provided by 185 hp Budda Diesel. Diesel tanks hold 16,000 gallons, two 250 gallon water tanks, 250 gallon holding tank, 150 gallon lube oil tank, and 25 gallon hydraulic tank. The main engine is a 650 hp Busch Seltzar direct reversing engine, producing 320 RPM which provides 9 knots, using only 6.5 gals/hr. There are also two 30 KW DC gensets and a 2005 8 KW Northern Lights genset, 2009 electric 50 gal. water heater, and the boat is heated by a diesel boiler system which circulates hot water. This Battle Tug has a proud combat history which includes Normandy, the South Pacific, Korea, and Vietnam.
