For the owner, his old fishing boat, called a "CHALUTIER", is an hystorical piece, that is unique. Those king of boat were also called "VOITURE D'EAU" as they were used, after their fishing years, on the St-Laurence to serve the islands. Her name is the M. V. ISABELLE G. She was built in 1952 in Lower Caraquet, New Brunswick, Canada. Originaly she was made for fishing purposes. In July 1952 a fisherman, of Newport Point County, in Gaspé South, Province of Québec, registered the boat as a sole owner. After five (5) years, on July 13 1961, she was sold to another fisherman of Rivière au Tonnerre, County of Duplessis. Seven (7) years later, this second owner sold her to private owner from Pointe-aux-Trembles, in the region of Montréal, province of Québec, which started using the boat for pleasure only. In August 4th, 1983, the present owner registered her to his name. For a 1952 boat, she is in a very good condition, as she is always ready to leave at anytime. All of her pleasure years, she was always kept in shape by very devoted and passionate owners. She has a 5' 6" draft, allowing her to navigate almost everywhere. The steel hull is in excellent condition and well kept . Her hull is a one of â??displacementâ??, making her a very stable, low wake and economical. The boat is propelled by a Detroit diesel 453 block, driving 3 blade, 36â?? brass propeller giving very strong thrust with a top speed of 8 knots. For a boat of that size, it is considered a very good speed. Know that engine that was installed by the present owner is a model alike the original designed for that kind of boat. The boat is well equiped for pleasure. For navigation, among things, she has a Garmin GPS, 24 mile radar, forward looking depthfinder, and VHF radio. As for living on board, she has as an electric/12v/120v refrigerator, microwave and propane stove. The heating on board is procured by an original woodstove, called "Fisherman", from Nova-Scotia, that was installed by the building company. Also, along, comes a dingy with a 6hp outboard. The interior is entirely wood finish and it is "open space" design, which makes it very comfortable to live. For hystorical purposes, although the Canadian government has recently replaced it, the original registry of the boat was kept.
