50' Custom Built Fiberglass Trawler, 2 Perkins Diesels Vehicle Description Well below the survey completed in June of this year. Someone is going to get a great deal. The fiberglass hull was built at Willard Marine for the Navy in the mid 60's. That hull was sold at auction and taken to Detroit where Jake DeKorse built it into a sturdy comfortable cruiser. Owners have recently completed a seven month Southern cruise. We spent the winter in the Bahamas and in the Florida Keys. During a six month span we anchored out 145 days, comfortable with Surveyor's amenities. There are 12 deep cycle batteries that power the refrigerator and entertainment center. Solar panels recharge the batteries. On cloudy days there is an on-deck generator that powers the ship's battery charger. There are two diesel Perkins motors, model 6-354, that are dependable and fuel efficient, burning 2 1/2 gallons per hour total at cruising speed of 7 mph, 1800rpm. Engine hours: 1900 port, 2200 stbd.
