1989 Regal Velocity 230 Vehicle Description 1989 Regal Velocity 230 runabout This boat was built by Regal and Steven Steep ( owner of Velocity Marine ) in 1989 the boat was designed as a sport cruiser with a cuddy cabin . The boat rides very nice and dry handles rough water very well and will top out at about 65 mph you can cruise at 50 mph and not have to own a fuel station we have run almost 150 miles on 45 gal of gas ( we made a trip to Lake Charles ICW ) and never missed a beat. Boat has never been modified the engine is stock the outdrive is stock and the carb is stock . I installed a Hydomotive Engineering 4 Blade ( Cleaver Syle ) prop in 1998 $1250 and made the boat ride almost ten times better hole shot is half the distance it was before and you can stay on plane at lower RPMs to save fuel. Trailer is a aluminum Magic Tilt 2004 model the original trailer rust to pieces i got this trailer from an insurance claim it fits the boat okay but the tires could stand to be replaced they hold air but do show signs of age also the trailer could stand to have tounge length it was for a 22' boat not a 23' I live only 5 miles from lake so the trailer was not a concern of mine but as far as towing it worked great and trailer is in excellant condition The following upgrades were done in 2004 1. Engine and Outdrive removed and sandblasted and repainted 2. New starter ( gear reduction style ) installed 3. New outdrive resivor 4. New shift cable, new shift boot , new gimble bearing , and gimble boot. 5. New transom seal 6. New motor mount bolts 7. New raw water pump ( complete kit ) 8. Replaced all block and manifold drains ( brass type ) Service performed this month 1. Change oil and filter 2. Replace fuel water separator 3. Replace outdrive fluids
