1976 Century Resorter Arabian Saber Sabre Inboard Boat Vehicle Description Sorry for any inconvenience, but there was a glitch in the system when I made the original listing, where for some reason only one sentence of the description printed. I called Ebay, and the only thing I could do was end that listing and start over. So here it is again with a full description this time. Thanks for your patience and understanding. Here is a gorgeous classic Century inboard boat! This is a seldom seen 1976 Century Sabre. The Sabre was designed to be a cross between the Resorter and the Arabian. It has the style and elegance of the posh and sporty Arabian, but instead of the rear sun deck matresses, it has the center mounted engine box and "walk around" floor like a Resorter. This design enables the boat to have a center mounted engine and true "Inboard" design, rather than the more complicated "V" drive that is necessitated by the Arabian design. These fiberglass Sabres were only made for a little over a year, making it a scarce and desireable classic boat. Also, 1976 was Century's 50th anniversary in business. To celebrate, the company came out with some "golden anniversary" Arabians and Sabres in what they called their "Hertiage Line" (traditional straight inboard models that were originally made in mahogany, and were carried through when Century switched to fiberglass hulls). This is one of these 1976 anniversary models. These boats were done in a reddish brown gel-coat finish, designed to emulate the look of the classic mahogany models that were made up through 1968. Also, the interiors were done in an "anniversary gold" 2 tone with brown accents color scheme. The result is that you end up with a classic Century boat that looks very close to the mahogany models without all the upkeep that wooden boats entail. These "Fiberclassic Boats" as they are being called are now an up and coming thing in the classic boat hobby. They are increasingly being recognized at antique boat shows and are becoming quite collectible, Additionally, they are very practical boats that are very well made, and have "bullet proof" drive trains that are reliable and easy to maintain. As a 50th anniversary Century, this one is sure to appreciate in desireability and value! This boat is an excellent original! In automotive circles, if this was a collector car, it would be referred to as a "Survivor" It has not been modified, and still has its original gel-coat finish. It has NOT been repainted like many older boats. The upholstery and interior, carpet, wood accents, etc are likewise all in really nice condition. I don't see anything missing, and there are no rips in the seats, side panels, or breaks in the dash. All the gauges work. Bilge pump, blower, horn, and lights all work. Boat also has an AM/FM/Casette that still works well. This Century is equipped with the "bullet proof" combination of 351 V8 engine and "Velvet Drive" marine transmission. Boat has recently had new battery, carburetor, water pump impeller, belts, tune-up, transmission service, throttle and shift cable, and several hoses. Shaft and rudder seals have also been checked an re-packed. Also, the boat has a brand new custom made mooring cover. It is a full length cover that goes to the water line, thus protecting the gel-coat from fading. The boat comes with a "drive-on" Inboard style trailer that has recently been totally overhauled. The trailer has new lights, tires, bearings, seals, etc, and is ready for a trip, if you like. IMPORTANT: The pictures show a spare tire on the trailer. Unfortunately since the pictures were taken, someone stole the spare. Please be advised that the spare shown in the pictures is NOT included. This is easy to replace. It is a standard 14 inch rim and tire. Sorry for any inconvenience. This classic Century runs very strong! It has the unmistakeable V8 roar that these boats are famous for. It is very smooth and powerful. The boat does not vibrate under throttle or do anything out of the ordinary. There are a couple of small nicks in the prop, but they have been there for years, and as I said, there is no vibration. The original hull and gel-coat are amazingly nice! As to be expected with any boat of this age there are a few sacratches and imperfections. However, the coloring is very deep and shiny; there is no chalkiness or fading out like many of these vintage boats get. I am only the 3rd owner of this boat! It has always been adult owned, and only has 293 original hours! This boat has also always been kept under cover and out of the water when not in use. It is very solid with respect to the structure, stringers, and floorboards. This boat should make someone happy for a long time to come! Don't miss it! Please feel free to call me at 704-661-1326 or 704-827-8138 for more information. Thanks for looking! About me: I live in North Carolina most of the year, and spend summers in Upstate New York where I am originally from. I keep a small "rotating car collection" of 5 to 10 nice old cars from the late 1950s to late 1970s. I will sometimes sell a car out of my collection to make way for a "new arrival" as time and space demand. I like nice original stock "survivor" cars that have not been customized or modified. I have owned and been interested in vintage cars for nearly 35 years! I have liked them since they were $500 "gas guzzlers" that no one wanted! LOL! This boat is part of my collection that I am "thinning down" and selling. 1. A NON-REFUNDABLE partial payment of $1500 is due within 48 hours of auction's close. This can be done by money order via overnight mail, or bank wire transfer. Pay Pal is NOT acceptable for this. 2. Balance is due within 7 days of auction's close. 3. Please have your money arranged, and all contingencies handled BEFORE you bid! If you are the successful bidder, you are expected to pay! 4. Boat and trailer are sold strictly AS-IS, WHERE-IS, with NO warranties expressed or implied. 5. Transportation is strictly the buyer's responsibility. I will help you all I reasonably can with logistics and arrangements, but it is still YOUR responsibility. 6. Boat is for sale here locally. I reserve right to end auction at any time if it sells through that venue. Please feel free to e-mail me or call me at 704-661-1326 to discuss the car further, or to explore an early buying opportunity. 7. It is ok if you cannot physically pick up the boat within 7 days of auction's end. It can be stored here for a reasonable time, free of charge. Just boat must be paid for within the 7 day period after close of auction. Also, be sure you have insurance arranged, as storage will be at buyer's risk. I cannot be responsible for acts of God, or circumstances beyond my control. 8. Boat and title will not leave here until paid for with CLEARED FUNDS. If you are paying balance upon pick-up of vehicle, balance must be paid in CASH ONLY Sorry for all the rules, but it seems that a very small percentage of difficult people ruin it for the vast majority who are good. Thanks a lot for looking, and please feel free to call cell at 704-661-1326. Please leave message if I am not in, or feel free to e-mail me with your phone number and questions.
