I have reduced the price of the incredible vessel to $27,500.00 until May 31st. This is your one-time chance to own this amazing boat at this incredibly low price. No joy ride seekers or keel-kickers please. No trades at this cash only price! The boat will be off the market as of June 1st, 2009. This is a very unique and rare opportunity to own a rare and historic vessel with lots of potential. Could be completed as a very worthy live-aboard, or even a working boat. Originally the vessel was designed and built for the U.S Navy in 1943, and cruised the Atlantic during WWII as a patrol boat. Being more than capable she sailed through the gulf, the Panama Canal and up the Coast to her new role to ferry passengers from Tacoma to McNeil Island. Had this not occurred, it is almost certain that the vessel would have been destroyed as were most of the boats like this one after the war. The State of Washington place the boat for sale on ebay in September of 2004 and it was sold to a company during that listing for $28,300.00. The company had who to use her in a commercial venture, spent a lot of money on upgrades, but the intended venture didnā??t happen as planned. At the time the vessel was sold in 2004 she was U.S Coast Guard certified to carry 80 passengers. A survey in 2004 showed her "as was" value at $50,000 plus with as replacement value at over $800,000 USD. I bought the vessel two years ago with the intention of converting her to a yacht for $30,000 and have invested an additional $35,000.00 on electrical and structural restoration since then. Vessel was last hauled in March 2009 and bottom painted, prop polished and new zincs installed. I also replaced all the batteries recently and had the engine serviced by Cummins Northwest, (who originally installed the current engine new) and it runs beautifully. Fuel capacity is 500 gallons and the tanks are full. Here are some specs: The interior is basically a blank canvas for you to work with. I have all the bronze stanchions, teak caps and rails. Very solid and very sound. The first picture were taken when the vessel was still in service. I am currenty restoring an much older classic yatch and have decided to reduce my work load and offer this little ship for sale. I have a lot of literature, drawings, blueprints etc for the boat. This is an incredibly well-built boat and you will be hard-pressed to find another one like it at any price. Please email me only if you are serious and truly desire to own a truly amazing vessel.
