Sparkman and Stephens Aluminum Sloop Racer French Built Vehicle Description You are viewing the sail Yacht TIOGA. Tioga is a Sparkman and Stephens design, made of aluminum and built in France. She is built very strong and very light; a small wind will push her through the water, and you will be more happy to be on Tioga in a gail than the other guy. Tioga has crossed the Atlantic five times, been all the way into Turkey in the Med.. and has reached numerous places throughout the carribbean since her rebuild in 1991. Tioga just completed a near 1000 mile trip back from its winter holding ground on the Rio Dulce, Guatemala... Now sitting in Miami, Tioga is awaiting the distinguished new owner to take the wheel. Tioga is an ocean going vessel with racing capabilities. She has a centerboard keel (6ft with the board up and 9ft with the board down) which allows her into some of the shallows of places like the Bahamas. Tioga is fast and comfortable, with a well laid out interior. The 80 horsepower diesel has just been rebuilt and has less than 100 hours on it. The sail inventory is acceptable, and will get you where you want to go including a very large spinnaker, and a heavy weather staysail along with a storm trysail. She will sail at the moment, but not in a complete posh enviroment. better than most though. Refrigeration runs off the engine and is in good shape. Radar, GPS, SSB, VHF, Am/Fm/CD, and Brooks and Gatehouse Gauges, are on board. Interior picts will come soon...
