Hobie 16 Vehicle Description This is a very good condition Hobie 16 that is complete and ready to sail. It comes with it's own trailer that is old, but roadworthy. You could launch it from the trailer today and sail off with no issues. It has an extra rudder stowed in the sailbox. The sails are in decent shape, there are no tears or rips anywhere. The jib & mainsail were new together and have plenty of life left in them. The tramp is stout and it does show some wear but it is not dry rotted or anything, the hiking straps have given way (don't they all?) but otherwise the tramp has a good 5 years left in it. The hull is solid all the way around with one minor exception, there is a soft spot less than 8 inches square around the access hole on the port pontoon. This is an easy fix but it is an unnecessary one as it does not affect performance. It's where the hole was cut for the inspection plate as is always the case. There is a patch job on the starboard pontoon from a grounding. Totally solid repair, a coat of paint wouldn't hurt. Extras include some extra hardware and a couple of butt buckets. A great little boat, we just don't use it like we thought and I hate to see Hobie sit there on the beach and rot. I have tried to give a good photo of the only blemishes on this otherwise well kept boat.
