Vehicle Description 1983 ROB HUMPHREYS 40' ONE OFF RACING BOAT- "Jade" Turn-key Racer - Includes winter storage and spring launching!!! Rob Humphreys is a top international yacht designer and first made his name as a racing yacht designer. His first major success was with "Jade" winning the One Ton World Championship in 1985. Humphreys boats have won numerous top-level championships, Fastnet Race, King's Cup, Copa del Rey, Trans Atlantics, etc. "Jade" was built by Neville Hutton in Lymington, England (south coast of England) and was inspired by "Roller Skate". "Jade" did not make the British Admirals' Cup team, but she did come extremely close and was a natural choice for the British Southern Cross team the following winter in 1983. In 1985 "Jade" was the winner of the One Ton world championship and member of the British Admiral's Cup team. In 1986 "Jade" was a class winner and second overall in the Southern Ocean Racing Conference in Florida. "Jade" was later sold to Peter de Ridder (dutch sailor) and became "Mean Machine", first in a line of Admirals' Cup yachts for the Dutch sailor. She has been renamed "Top Gun". "Jade's" sistership is the 41' 1985 "Sarbaya" presently in Mallorca, Spain. She is a performance racer and a highly competitive racing boat in Spain for many years. She has won the Copa del Rey several times and still regularly competes in races around the Balearics (Western Mediterranean Sea, near the Eastern Coast of the Iberian Peninsula).
