Tropical breezes and gently lapping waves, all yours for a week, two weeks, even a month. A different beach every day, a new harbor every evening, days of leisurely fishing and exploring. And later, gathering with family or friends for drinks on the deck of your own private yacht, looking out over the aqua waters and the nearby islands, all yours for tomorrow. This is what you have worked hard for all your life: a luxury yacht where you and your family can have relaxed, lazy, fun-filled vacation days. You've dreamed and talked of these fantasy good times, days and nights of laughter and memories that will last a lifetime. But purchasing a private yacht and owning one - with upkeep, taxes, insurance- just seems too overwhelming . Now there is a way to make these dreams come true. With the Reef Song fractional share ownership plan, you can purchase a share of a private yacht for a literal fraction of the cost of owning. All the ownership expenses are split among the ten owners in the yacht. We manage the financial responsibilities, communications, and maintenance, to assure you the vacation of your dreams. Fractional share ownership will give you one month per year of personal use of the yacht. Each year you will get 2 weeks of time in the summer and 2 weeks in the winter. These periods will change each year by an owner period selection process. Owners may trade weeks with other owners to maximize their travel plans. Reef Song is US Coast Guard Documented and will be home ported in the BVI. The current plan is to keep her on Virgin Gorda, where they have great docks with electricity and great natural protection from storms. Reef Song is fully equipped with a spinnaker, spinnaker pole, spinnaker sock, hand held color Garmin GPS, handheld and built-in VHF, Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon for offshore use, two self-deploying liferafts, and lots of additional equipment. I will probably retain 3 shares. * Investment per 1 month unit- $25k up-front * Each owner pays 10% of the operational costs each year per unit: Dockage and boat care, insurance, BVI taxes and fees, parts and repairs, maintenance of the yacht and dinghy. Expenses were $28k /year for 2007/2008 So for ten fractional shares, each owner would pay $2800/year per share. This number will vary based on expenses, payable quarterly and based on the expenses for that quarter.(Note: I expect to keep expenses below $2000 for each share by the use of a mooring as well as reducing the cost of material and repairs. The current expenses include a 10% fee for the management company as well as several other costs which will be eliminated.) * 2 days between each yacht use for cleaning and prep * Owners may share their time with qualified sailors. * Shares can be sold if desired. * After 10 years, the yacht will be sold and the proceeds will be distributed to the owners. Note: More than one share can be purchased giving more time each year on the yacht. The investment will be 25k, and 10% for the operational costs for each share.
