1972 Starcraft aluminum fishing boat - L@@K! Vehicle Description Up for auction is a really nice aluminum fishing boat that is ready to go! It is 16 feet, has a 50HP Johnson electric shift motor on the back and an auxilary motor mount for a trolling motor or backup motor. I bought this 2 years ago and it originally had a windshield that was cracked and the trailer was a little rusty. The bearings were shot and I had the hub and bearings replaced along with brand new tires (including a spare). This was sitting in a barn up by Greenbay Wisconsin and the person I bought it from said the original owner had passed away awhile ago so it sat for some time. The paint looks great (white is still nice and white and the red is still nice and red). I had to replace the power pack on it and the controller for the throttle/shifting had a bad switch in it. I had to replace the controller because just a new switch would have been $400.00 from the Marina, so I put a foot throttle control and moved the rest of the controls on the dash (start, shift, choke, etc...). The electric horn has two trumpets (only one works) and all gauges work (speedo, tach, hour meter). The hour meter reads 353 and it has worked for the past two summers I have owned this boat. I sanded down the trailer, and painted it metalic black. The paint job is not perfect but it looks nice. All in all, a really nice boat and starts and runs great... I really get a lot of looks on the lake when I have the kids out cruisin' around. I hate to give this boat up for after only using it a couple of times last year and also this year, we are switching to some other water sport activities :) I have clear titles for boat and trailer. Trailer is registered as a homemade trailer since it was bought in Wisconsin. Also included with this boat; 6 gallon fuel tank, new battery last year, new cover this year, fish finder new last year, small cooler that doubles as a spare seat, 40 channel cobra CB, marine radio antenna, new lights on trailer, anchor with front mounted anchor mate, and other odds and ends... Boat is located in Grayslake, Il. 60030. I will travel within 50 miles of 60030 for $1.00 per loaded mile. Please ask all questions before bidding. If you are interested in a cash/trade offer, I am looking for some 2 person kayaks (the whole reason for selling the boat). I am also interested in a 12 to16 foot canoe that is wide and has a square stern (aluminum prefered).
