Dolphin, kings nearshore/offshore on 10-25 lb rods

Thanks!

Boat: NONE!!!
Best Catch: A Nette :)
Occupation: Professional Pasture Pool Player
For trout & reds...Penn Slammer 260's

For offshore, Penn Slammer 560's for schoolie mahi & blackfin
Fin Nor OS 65's & 85's for the heavy work.

Both of these reels are tanks and could not be happier. Price is right too.

Shimano stella or stradic. You can't beat the stella on any class tackle and the new stradic is awesome for the money. 3000-8000 sizes

I have a pair of the quantum Cabo PT 60s.(among others) have had them for 3+ seasons and like them alot. one is my personal outfit on a 7' star rod #50 braid with a floro topshot. i got these when i heard that quatum(the co. that owns them) had bought VanStaal thinking some of the VS engineering would go into them. I have not been disappointed, their claim of corrosion resistance coating is right on. i have caught a variety of of fish on them from croakers to sharks and found them to be suitable as a "high end"(as high as my budget goes) reel for inshore charter use. My only disappointment, made in china! i am sure that fishing with Van Staals, Stellas, Accurate etc., is great but my budget is not there! Gottafly Lee recommended the Penn slamers to me a while back and I will follow his reccommendations. I have Penn and okuma spinners too. IMO you can catch just as many fish (maybe for a longer time) with a $150-$200 spinning reel as one costing $500-$1200.

Best Catch: Fresh fish for dinner!
Occupation: Pink Snapper Snatcher
Inshore for Reds, trout and snook it either Stella 3000FDs or Spheros 4000s. For light offshore sails, kings, mahi, cudas, snapper, tripletail, etc. I like the Van Staal VSB150s. Why Van Staal... easy they are WATER TIGHT. After a long day running and gunning if rough weather where the reels constantly get splashed I don't have to break them down every week to clean out the salt. As with the rest of the offshore equip it's a wash, rinse and dry. Every 2 weeks they get a little oil on the roller bearing, handle and bail arm. If it has been particularly wet day I might hit them with some Penn reel cleaner. Sorry for the lack of pic quality it was taken with the cell phone.
