Tackle Hoes
Tackle, Tackle, Tackle....
I know in the offshore fishing world you cant get by with just a set of 4 rods and a tackle box of lures. We all have to have tons of rods for every different kind of fish and have thousands of dollars worth of tackle. I found it quite interesting today when i was roaming through my rigging closet and decided to count all my clear plano boxs full of mess and all the rigging buckets and bags full of squids and teasers. Am i the only one obsessed with this mess i know i have to have over a thousand dollars just in hooks I counted over 40 plano boxs,5 rigging buckets jammed with shit,8 spreader bars on the wall over 75 rods, 8 gaffs, dredges everywhere its just insane. And the sad thing is i go to the tackle store and find aton of stuff i dont have. Am i the only one here? Come on guys share your collection of stuff..maybe even some pics. I love all my tackle as much as my boat. Its kinda scary Con22 |

Uh oh, this sounds like a subject for GradyWhite273. We just might have to make him the President and Grand Poobah (spl??) of Tacklehoes Annonymous. Just ask him, he fed his addiction above and beyond this weekend.

For me it's reels. I just can't stop buying them. Al types for all kinds of fishing. Then I gotta find ways to make them better. Lately I've been experimenting with different lines. Trying to find the ones with the best knot strenght and breaking test to diameter ratio. I'm always swinging from one thing to the next. Over the winter I rigged about 75 shark rigs for the upcoming season.

I'm a tackle headed Nappy HOE
I have a (small) room in my house dedicated to spools of line, old reels old rods, crimps, leader material, trolling lures that I've pulled but won't pull again, lures that I've bought but won't ever pull. I've got spinning reels, Levelwind reels, a fighting chair, a rocket launcher, Lee Rod holders still in packages, cast nets, flounder gear, king mack gear, bottom rigs - None of it is likely ever to see the naked light of day. If I were a fish I would have been caught a long time ago - There is hardly a lure I can pass up. Now, If I remember correctly addmitting the problem is the first step to recovery I only have 11 more steps to go. Did I mention the flounder lights, the gigs, the flying gaff hooks, the rigging wire, the lure making gear, the jig molds, the... If I could quit buying this sh^T I coiuld retire and go fishing. |

Sounds like we need to make a list of requirements to be a "Tackle Hoe".
But for those of you that haven't been introduced to the President, check out this link: OUR VERY OWN !!!
