PROTOTYPE AVET 80 ON DISPLAY - EDISON, NJ

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that there is a prototype AVET 80 Reel on display at the Outdoor Sportsman Show in Edison, NJ. The show is at the Raritain Center thru the weekend. Thought you all would like to know.....

I'm an Avet fan, hands down but after the years of expecting this thing to be coming out it will have to be very impressive in order to meet expectations. I really hope it does and I like to see all American companies succeed.

Specs:

60# at strike and 70# at full.

2.7:1 High Gear
1.3:1 Low Gear

950 Yds. 80# Mono

I take that over an 80 tiagra/penn any day of the week.

I also saw that reel, it is a beast. 70+lb of drag at max, and will be $799 new, so the price is comparable with a penn 70. I think now that Avet finally has an 80, we may see more of them on big time tourney boats. Most crews did not look at them since they did not have an 80. The reel is very solid, it is a winch.
