Need to Fix my AVET MXL 4.5

One of the fasteners that goes from the part they call a rod mount to the main housing stripped the tapped threads out of the main alum housing. Pretty disappointed, I like the reel but haven't used it very much and it is out of warranty. I personally don't think the allen head pan machine screws were long enough to begin with and that is why the aluminum tapped hole stripped out. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if so how they fixed it.

Thanks,

Jim

sort of

Just a message from the girl saying that is fixed but out of warranty and I'm guessing they need a credit card to send it back......I've tried calling her back but haven't got in touch with her yet.......which is good because it's giving me a chance to cool down......
I personally don't think I should have to pay shit except shipping charges to get it. It wasn't designed correctly in the first place.....if it was from my neglect I would gladly play, but this reel was in mint condition and used very little. Dam, there goes the blood pressure....

That stinks. Maybe they'll reconsider and cover the repair after you talk to them. Good luck.

It's supposed to be on it's way back from CA. I called her back and she said that her boss told her to ship it out.....No mention of a charge. I'm curious to see how they repaired it.

To bad they didn't think of using the longer screws originally.

Funny I was wondering why you sold it to me so cheap. After reading this I just retapped it and installed bigger screws. No big deal. I did'nt really notice a problem with how they fixed it though. They may have done the same thing I did. It is something I think I would have told someone before selling the reel, but you did have it repaired by the manufacturer so I guess it's not like you sold a broken reel. Either way no big deal.

Hey man, I told you I sent it back to the company to get that part fixed. There was total disclosure on my part. If you are not happy with the reel your more than welcome to send it back and I'll send you a check back with money for shipping. No problem.
