Never had an issue with an Avet, I fish SX's inshore, but have landed bluefins to 70lbs on them while trolling braid inshore. I also use pro exw 30's for canyon trolling, they are rigged with 80lb hollowcore and momoi top shots, 520 yards in total. I've never had a problem using any of these reels. All my other reels have gone up for sale, they have been in for way too much service lately. I got a chance to see the Avet 80 at a tackle show, they reel is as solid as all the others, if not better. I think that since Avet has released an 80, you will finally see some big name boats and fishing teams start to use them over time. Since Avet never had an 80, many big teams never considered using them. I also think a lot of Giant Bluefin fishermen will start to use them, they are WINCHES!!! I think they will be an awesome rod holder reel as well. At $799, it is one of the best deals out there for an 80.
