1971 21' Boston Whaler with Cabin (ex-rescue boat) Vehicle Description This is a 1971 21' Boston Whaler!! This boat is very unique, as it is from Yellowstone Lake Park Service as a emergency Service Search and Rescue boat. It has twin outboard Mercury 80 motors with hydraulic (power)up and down. It has dual long range fuel tanks, a double fuel filter system custom fit to the boat with a water separator! all filters are easily accessible at auto parts store. It has all the navigational lights, life rings, brand new shake spear antenna. individual motor controls independently operate each motor forward and reverse. has a nice water tight large capacity passenger seat that is a cooler or fish keeper tank. It has lots of storage inside under the cabin, and what they call a "wet well" to keep fish or whatever with a nice wood cover. This boat is very spacious and makes a great fishing boat, capable of taking 12 people on the manufacture tag! It has a big deck and is the perfect boat for a large fishing group, a quiet day alone on the lake, or a summer party boat. It has the unmistakable hull of the Boston whaler that makes these boats the best for handling the water. This has a professionally made cabin that sets this boat apart from others. it is all wood finish on the inside and white fiberglass on the outside. The one drawback from most of the 70's Boston whalers is they don't have anything to keep you from the elements, usually at most just a canvas sunshade. This boat has the cabin that is not only keep you out of the weather but could also be reconfigured for a little bed underneath in the "V" and possibly a little stove or kitchen set. The possibilities are endless and if you want to ever change this boat, you have an excellent foundation to work on or leave it the way it is and GO FISHING!! I am now 75 and realizing that I am getting to old to handle a boat on my own anymore and I have hung on to this boat over the years despite may offers to buy it from me. It is a great looking and desired boat! My son and I took it out to Canyon Ferry Lake Thursday and Friday and it runs as well as it always has. before going to the lake, we removed all the fuel and cleaned the fuel tanks, replaced all the fuel filters and water separator filter and put new high octane fuel in. Changed the lower oil, etc.. It's ready to go!! And I just put brand new tires on the trailer and had the bearings greased. I don't know what it's called but below the prop there is a fin that goes deeper. this piece has the lower part of the fin missing and a small nick in the prop. It works great and it's been this way since I have owned it for the last 8 years. It has no effect on the performance of the boat or motor. And I have plenty of pictures of this. The motors run great!! but it they sit at idle for a long time they will simply shut off. (this is not bad, it's just an easy adjustment for the idle setting) the cabin/ pilot house is fiberglass over wood. the fiberglass looks to have some weathergin cracks and could use either some paint or very light fiberglass fixin. doesn't seem to be a problem at all, has not leaked, It may just be the paint cracking due to heat. not really sure. The wood inside is nice and solid!! That's about it!! Please email with questions, or appointments to view the boat. bfc_ustoms@yahoo.com I have plenty more pictures upon request for serious inquires and can take more if needed. --I measured the boat, it sits right now at 10' from ground to top of boat on the trailer. I think if you let some air out of the tires, and vechicle towing it, you could get it into a 9' high garage. or push it in on a floor jack instead of a vechicle.
