BERTRAM 28 FLYBRIDGE SOUND AWESOME PROJECT NO RESERVE ! Vehicle Description For auction we have a Bertram 28 Flybridge cruiser , a very popular model . To give you a little history behind her , she was being renovated by her previous owner who had done a fair amount of work however as you can see by the name " Mortgage Guy " he ran into financial trouble most likely to the decline in markets and the boat was subsequently liened by the marina for non payment of storage . We do have a free and clear Maryland title which will convey with the boat . The hull is in good condition as you can see from the pictures , below the waterline there are no blisters , the wheels/ props have been refurbished and the cutlass bearings look to be in good shape , shafts are straight . Above the waterline she still has a good shine and could perhaps use a wax that would be about it . On the starboard aft corner there has been a small gel coat repair approx 4 by 4 inches , if I were to surmise I would say from hitting a dock when backing in not structural and not very visible but we do try our best to disclose as much as possible . That is the only noticeable damage we detected on the hull besides obvious wear and tear from age . Up on deck she is in good condition , there do not appear to be any soft spots , the flybridge is solid as is the aft cockpit , I would say the aft cockpit area is in good original condition not having been painted and all the non slip is still visible . There is a bimini frame however the bimini is no longer on the boat , the original s/s ladder is still in place as well . There is a VHF radio up on the flybridge . These Bertrams are very well known for their large aft cockpit areas which making for awesome fishing boats , down below she is very spartan , there is a dinette to Starboard and a V birth up forward , on the Port side a galley area however the refrigerator has been removed . behind that is an enclosed stand up head . We are selling her as a project with NO RESERVE as she does need engine work . Both engines are Fresh Water Cooled ! The Starboard engine is complete and looks to have had work done , some new hoses , new starter , new carburettor and she does crank over , When I opened the Cap it was still full of antifreeze The Port engine also turns over and looks like it was being reassembled however the starter is also new but has been removed or should I perhaps say not reinstalled , The manifolds and risers have been removed and I think that is most likely why it was being put back together with new manifolds and risers , it also needs to have a new heat exchanger installed . There are no manifolds , risers or heat exchanger I believe the engines are 350,s if I have made a mistake I am sorry . The boat is ideally suited to someone who is handy with engines although with no reserve you could have it professionally reinstalled . I have a quote of $2500 to get both engines up and running properly . What you see in the pictures is what comes with the boat , however the upper helm seat is missing sorry . There is what appears to be a blue sunbrella flybridge cover in the boat . Now down to the numbers , these Bertrams generally sell between $20,000 and $40,000 , $70,000 in Europe , you can find rough versions from approx $13,500 locally however other than the engine issue and some cosmetics I would say she is structurally in good shape , It is a project and is being sold as such so please keep that in mind when bidding . This is a great Winter Project , we can help arrange delivery anywhere is the lower 48 states for approx $3 per mile , she can also remain where she is for approx $130 per month land storage .
