DYER 29' DOWNEAST WITHOUT DIESEL ENGINE(BUT AVAILABLE) Vehicle Description The Auction is for the boat ONLY without the Engine, Transmission, or Gauge Panel and Harness. These ARE currently installed and ready to go, but will be removed prior to boat being sold UNLESS you would like to purchase them in ADDITION to the winning bid for the boat. Pictures of the engine and related components aforementioned are being provided just to illustrate that if you want to purchase them, the boat is ready to go into the water and be used almost immediately. To purchase these components WITH THE BOAT ONLY, add $14,000 to the winning bid. I will not sell them at that price without the boat. This 1973 Dyer 29 solid fiberglass offshore bass boat style downeast hard top is a bare-bones, no nonsense, reliable, efficient and fast fishing boat or spartan cruiser with excellent sea-keeping abilities and a very soft, "no pounding" ride. Her legendary design, with a history to go with, has remained virtually unchanged since 1955 and is still produced today. Complete repower in 2003 with a Yanmar 315 Hp 6 cylinder diesel (including new transmission), (2) new 55 gallon aluminum tanks, dripless TIDES MARINE shaft seal, etc. at a cost of almost $50K!! Hull is solid fiberglass with a fiberglass over wood superstructure which, although solid, needs cosmetics. Electronics include Furuno radar, color fishfinder, VHF, and Garmin 182 chartplotter. Radar and fishfinder are outdated and should be upgraded, although both worked when last underway in May 2009. Cruises 19-20K , but more speed can be attained with fine tuning of the propellor. a 22-23K cruise and 27K top end should be achievable according to a published performance report that can be read here: www.yachtworld.com/dyerboats/dyerboats_7.html Fish for cheap!! V-berths up forward, head enclosure with a porta potti, 4 blade wheel, freshwater washdown tank, etc. Currently needs prop reconditioning if it is to be used. Vessel is seaworthy and can be used in it's present condition ( was last underway 5-22-09), however cosmetics (paint to wheelhouse, cushions replaced , varnish, good scrubdown, etc) and some minor attention is needed around. The most expensive part has been done!! Perfect boat for someone that can put in a little sweat equity for a great deal on this popular downeast. USE BOAT FOR REST OF SEASON, THEN DO THE MINOR REPARS OVER THE WINTER AND HAVE ONE BEAUTIFUL, EFFICIENT, FAST, SEAWORTHY downeast for the spring!!
