    WTB Fighting Chair Side-Mount Gimbals

I've got a good fighting chair with POS side gimbals. They are not very sturdy, bind often, and just piss me off each time we use them.

I'm hoping someone has a POS chair in their trash pile with nice salvagable side gimbals. I could use a fighting gimbal for a spare as well, if you've got that too. If anyone has any laying around, let me know. Pics would be helpful.

    Thanks.

    Hey JD,

I was hoping you would reply, wanna part out that pretty chair of yours??

The chair was made by The Marine Concept in CT (Clinton, I think). From what I can tell they are either out of business or not making chairs any longer. Instead of cast aluminum, the side gimbals are welded stainless. The pivot tube back to the mounting flange is the POS part, not quality wise - but functionally. It's just a poor design. I'm not looking to replace the existing, but to replace them with a more proven design, especially with regard to pivoting smoothness.

If you know of anyone who has a scrap pile, let me know.

For you...I can let you have the gimbals for only $3000....the rest of the chair is free..

Seriously, I don't know the name Marine Concept in Clinton, CT....however, I'm wondering if they changed their name..... try arrigonidesign.com . They are located in Clinton, CT and do make helm, fighting charis and other fishing/boating items. They are a small shop and do a great job.

    Good luck!

    Franky,

Yes, I am still looking. If you've got some, let me know. 2 or 4, doesn't matter. It's OK if they need a little TLC, I'm more interested in the strength/function.

    Thanks.

Try Sonny Raines at the Jarrett Bay Salvage Store. I think he has some big heavy- duty units , and lots of other chair parts.I think you can e-mail him through Jarrett Bays website.
