I need a cheap grinder that can grind up menhaden bluefish ect. I dont need an automatic one nor can I afford it please let me know if you have one in good shape that your willing to sell
shop for a hand turned sausage/meat grinder, available for about $30-$60. available online through bass pro or www.sausagemaker.com. many sizes available as well as an adapter to replace handle with pulley for belt driven when you add a motor to the works.
that is what i use, i have attached a 1 hp motor from a job i did on it and it will grind up as fast as you can feed it. just please be careful if you power this set-up, i know the dangers all too well as i have a processing house set-up along with some friends for hogs, deer, and beef. this sad picture was from a site that shows a young child after getting his hand caught. if you have kids, please keep them away from this even if it not powered because there is no way to really back it up.
it will eat just about anything you put into it. add some menhaden oil to your mixture when doing the chum and then freeze into blocks. the larger square tupperware container work well and fit in all chumbags. get the one that is 20x12x4
