Very Old Cat Free to a Good Home/Suggestions?

Let me start by saying this is not a joke and I don't need any smartass responses with the week I have been having.

Any suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated. My mother has a cat (his name is mojo) that is 21 years old (we got him when I was still in high school. Has been an awesome cat but its old. This week my mother had a major fall and had been in a "stressed position" for 12-14 hrs before we found her. As a result she went to the hospital with a multitude of problems including kidney failure and most likely will not be returning home. I have 4 cats already and cannot take this one. My sister's son is highly allergic to cats and I don't have the heart to putt it down or take him to the pound only to have them put it down. I don't know any medical history ie status of shots etc. All I know is its black missing some hair and still appears to be happy as a lark! I just want to find a place hell be happy till he dies

Does anyone know anyone or a group that will take this cat. I know its a long shot and it being long in the tooth doesn't help with placement. Let me know if you all have any realistic suggestions.

    THANKS

    -D

Sorry I don't have an answer for the cat - but could not pass this post without offering up prayers and well wishes from down here in NC. I hope the cat situation will resolve quickly so that you can focus on supporting your mom. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear about your mother..... theres a nursing home down here that has cats and dogs for the patients to be involved with. You might want to check in your area. I thought it was odd when I first saw it, but the people there seem to really enjoy having them around and gave them something to talk to pet etc.
    Good Luck.
