I have been kicking around the idea of exchanging my "well used" reels for some new ones, and thought I'd see what kind of interest there would be in the purchase of the ones I currently own. Bear in mind that these reels have been used for the last ten years or so on a Hatteras charter boat. Every winter our local reel expert "Herb" goes through each one, in preparation for the upcoming season, and the reels are soaped and dried daily, but they are plenty scratched and dinged. They all work great though, and would do fine for somebody wanting to "get some gold". I haven't completely made up my mind about this decision yet, nor have I given much thought about what the asking price would be. I have 8 Penn single speed 50Ws, 2 Penn single speed 50s, and 2 single speed Shimano 50Ws (Tritons). I also have 8 Penn 80s/80Ws (can't remember how many of which) that I may sell. David, I'm sure there would be interest in them if the price is attractive enough. All depends on the price vs condition. You can always put the prices and pics out there and let people know that you MAY be selling. Then see how much interest there is.

I may be interested in the 80W's myself, if any of them are two speeds.

Ok, here's the inventory, along with pictures:

Two Shimano TLD 50W 2spds, pretty decent condition, 300 yards braid backing, 80# mono top shot. $225 each

Seven Penn 50Ws in the condition I previously described, although a second opinion was that they aren't as bad as I described them, and that it is a great deal. These reels were used this summer, have not been worked on yet this year, and have been hanging in my boat unused since November, till today. $150 each

One newer Penn 50 TW, in much nicer shape than the others, single speed. $250

Two Penn 50 narrows, old style, but nicer than the 50Ws.
$175 each

I am still undecided about all of my 80s, but would entertain offers. I have three straight single speed 80s two of them are in pretty good shape, one of them has been used for my planer rod, and is a little rough. $250 each for the two, $175 for the one.

I have four single speed 80Ws that are in nice shape, and one two speed 80STW. My 80s don't take the day to day beating that the 50s do, tuna and dolphin fishing, so they are in pretty nice condition. I am still undecided about these, but will probably sell. tell me what you think they are worth.

On the 80STW, asking for offers, you'll probably get low ones! A couple more pics, esp showing the side plates, would be a good idea.

I took a quick look at Ebay and one there just sold for $400. But the description said it was like new/excellent condition and the pics looked like it. So I'd guess you're talking in the $200 range on yours. But again, more pictures might change that.

Here's a couple pics of the 80 STW. It has a few scratches, but pretty nice. All the 80s are filled up w/ 100# momoi. I'm not giving my 80s away. I was thinking 400 for the STW.
I wish I had as many emails about charters for this year as I have about these reels!

So far I have sold both of my 50s, and five 50Ws. I had one person speak up for an 80, but haven't heard back from him. That leaves three Penn 50Ws, and two Shimano 2 spd TLD 50Ws. Also two Penn 80s, four 80Ws, and one 80 STW.
