Paul what's the advantage to doing the guides like that? That is the 1st time I have seen them done this way - unique.

I'll take the liberty of answering for Paul - It eliminates rod twist when using a conventional reel (the line is coming off the bottom of the rod at the tip like a spinning rod)

Thanks DD ...pellicot that way of making a rod stable under load has been around since the early 1900.called the Roberts Wrap. now renames Acid wrap, spirial wrap, and some do it with a "Bumper" guide it is a great way to make a rod. you Fight the fish NOT the rod...takes all the Torque out of your hands..

Paul & Double D - thanks. It's a wonder more aren't done this way as it seems to make sense. I have not seen any rods like that beforeso there must not be alot out there except for the custom built.

Ok Paul how do you spline a rod to do an ACID wrap? I have build several sandard rods and this looks very interesting.

Thanks,

Tom D.
