We do transport as well, fully insured, licensed, proper equipment. F650 so fuel costs are able to be kept lower than most.

Call me or send me an email and I can give you what ever you need

Give Andy Young a call at 252-312-9774. He is fully licensed and moves boats up and down the coast. He is local to NC and he moved my boat but I don't remember the cost per mile.

I thought that I should probably ad this for anyone that could use the info

With boat transport of any sort there are many things to be careful of

Insurance is a major thing. Cargo Insurance that is. Such as if we are towing a 2 million dollar boat behind us and one is hit it flip it destroy it. Its covered.

There are a lot of guys that do not have insurance. Why is beyond my imagination but its true. I heard it for my own ears.

I can't name names etc but this person/business i am referring to had a rather larger scale and size of business.

I believe he has been reported and I am not sure the outcome but it is scary scary!

Also the smaller the truck comparing weight of the vessels, gas engines and lead feet will increase your bill immensely.

Dark color hulls remove the shrink wrap.

Remove all loose cushions, canvas, and covers. The will loosen up and blow off

Before the boat hauler gets there remember to remove any items off the top for clearance issues. We ripped a nav light off BUT we told the guy 3 weeks prior to remove all of it before we pulled it and it caught a low wire bringing back to the shop for them to remove the radar as we asked prior so we didn't take that off in a tunnel.

Proper trailer for boat moving is another key piece or can damage the hull.

I am sure there is a few things missed. Most of you all know this info already. I am sure someone will find this helpful at some point

Thumbs up boat hauling to CT

    Look into:
    http://www.uship.com/
Very good site to locate haulers who bid for your job.
I have used it myself and was very happy. I used Andrea J. Transporting several times to bring boats to CT. Try calling Eric direct 845-429-9396
    good luck with your search.

That is great info Mary. I wish I knew you were in the shipping business a few days ago, I just moved my boat back up here from Florida.

How are you otherwise? Have not heard from you in a while, I hope you are doing well.

ol' mary's right for a change there's alot of guys out there hauling with no insurance,as well as no commercial registration, and,if you're headin' outta state, you need a motorfreight carrier's number...i've seen a few guys advertising for hauling to and from fla,one guy has a small gas pick up,a ford 150,and a load rite tandem trailer, guy's from new jersey...

I just went through this last week, If you call a broker or a web site such as u-ship thay get a cut of the job and the cost is higher. I finally got hooked up with Dana Smith from J&J Marine. He lives in Mass and has a boat in Morehead NC area. First class equiptment, Freightliner tractor, custom Hydraulic trailer fully insured. He hauls from Fla to Maine. Did a 31 JC from Mass to OC MD for $1800.00 for me. His number is 508-646-1888 phone, 508-400-2933 cell.
