I thought that I should probably ad this for anyone that could use the info
With boat transport of any sort there are many things to be careful of
Insurance is a major thing. Cargo Insurance that is. Such as if we are towing a 2 million dollar boat behind us and one is hit it flip it destroy it. Its covered.
There are a lot of guys that do not have insurance. Why is beyond my imagination but its true. I heard it for my own ears.
I can't name names etc but this person/business i am referring to had a rather larger scale and size of business.
I believe he has been reported and I am not sure the outcome but it is scary scary!
Also the smaller the truck comparing weight of the vessels, gas engines and lead feet will increase your bill immensely.
Dark color hulls remove the shrink wrap.
Remove all loose cushions, canvas, and covers. The will loosen up and blow off
Before the boat hauler gets there remember to remove any items off the top for clearance issues. We ripped a nav light off BUT we told the guy 3 weeks prior to remove all of it before we pulled it and it caught a low wire bringing back to the shop for them to remove the radar as we asked prior so we didn't take that off in a tunnel.
Proper trailer for boat moving is another key piece or can damage the hull.
I am sure there is a few things missed. Most of you all know this info already. I am sure someone will find this helpful at some point
