I just went through this last week, If you call a broker or a web site such as u-ship thay get a cut of the job and the cost is higher. I finally got hooked up with Dana Smith from J&J Marine. He lives in Mass and has a boat in Morehead NC area. First class equiptment, Freightliner tractor, custom Hydraulic trailer fully insured. He hauls from Fla to Maine. Your correct about uship plus its a PIA to deal with. As far as the comment on brokers getting a cut that's untrue either that or I have been missing out over the years
