Side Vents/louvers for inboard boat intake
Excess fiberglass will need to be trimmed down by the buyer so they can be installed. They help deliver more air to the normally fresh air starved engines found in most inboard boats. They measure 36 inches long. The forward height is 6 inches and the rear height is 5 1/4 inches. The opening for the air induction port is 15 inches by 2 1/2 inches but can be larger or smaller because they have not been cut out yet. I am open to reasonable offers, I paid 500 when I bought them. Other comparable vents cost way more on the 31bertram site. I would like to get at least 300.00 but I am willing to make a deal for someone. Call me up if you want more info 910-850-6584 Dave |

Well I guess it all depends on how custom you want them to look. I was going to glass them into the sides but it would look just as good if you cut a bigger hole in the side of your boat where the existing vents are(amidship) and use 4200 to seal them up on the side of the boat. Then cut the desired hole into the vent to allow enough airflow, run some bilge blower hose (5" diameter) down into the engine room and then you got a pretty sick little custom addition to the boat and it will be functional as well. There are probably other methods out there as well but that is the way I would do it. Thanks bro! Dave |

Oh yeah... One more thing. If you look at the closeup pic of either vent you will see that there is excess fiberglass from it being in the mold. You will have to trim that excess down to the raised edge of the vent. The raised edge will be the contact point between the hull side and the caulking. Hope that makes sense.
