A good friend of mine David Wilson, Captain of the Godspeed has been working on this project for quite some time and it either needs a new home, or needs a new owner.
Drawn by Captain Squid (Leonard Rigsby), this rig would make some one a fine ride. Take it home and finish it yourself or get Captain Dave to finish it for you.
Here is the scoop:
29 foot cold molded custom carolina hull. Longitudinals built out of fir, hull planked with two layers of Mirante marine plywood. Bottom is one layer of 1/2" and one layer of 1/4". Sides are two layers of 1/4". Transom is two layers of 1/2" Bulkheads are 3/4" Mirante. Knytex 1208 fabric and West syst epoxy used throughout. Two layers of fabric on bottom, overlapping over keel 6"-8" on each side. Two layers on transom, one layer on sides. Three layers on chine and corners of transom. The hull was smeared with 3M microballoons, board sanded, primed with 545, and DA sanded to 220. The inside of the boat is completely glassed up and over chine log. Bow cap has been installed over cuddy cabin, 1/2" AB fir plywood, epoxy sealed underside and deck beams. Boat designed to be center console/outboard. 9 1/2' beam, 7 1/2' across transom. Beautiful lines, great project for someone who always wanted a custom carolina boat. The most labor intensive part is done.
Dave is not a member on here yet, so I posted it for him.
