Radar Arch For Small Off shore Boats
Some of you might enjoy some of the Radar Archs I have built this year. So far I have not gotten to build the same one twice.
All are made to fit the individual boats and the lines that the manufacturer has built into it. Alluminum and Stainless Steel. They are designed to hold GPS, All around light, deck light, Radar, fishing rods, nets, gaffs, and even out riggers. Up here were are meat grinders so some of us use riggers capable of pulling hand lines. Whith these we can plug our boats and make the fifty mile trip back to port by noon. The Arches are plasticoated which I feel is better then the standerd hard powder coating. It also does not chip off like powder coating nor undercreep popping the powder off. Enjoy This boat belongs to our local Garmin Rep. This Arch had to lay down and clear the garage entry, I gave him 1" clearance. This one realy compliments the boat. This customer was extremly happy. Here are a couple of CAD drawings, the first is a platform for a brand new 25 ft. parker. It holds a 54 mile furuno radar (50 lbs.) GPS and Antenna. The second is for the white North Rover OS. This owner had special needs, the first project was the A-Frame for future out riggers. The second is the fold down arch so he could trailer down the road. The rod holders are detatchable, and when the wind blows gently they sing to the fish enabling the crew to cast around the boat with fish traps and catch all they can hold. |

Wow! Those are some really cool designs. Are those aluminum boats mostly used for fishing rivers up there? I like that platform for the Parker. Pretty work.

All of these boats are used offshore. As you can guess we pick our day's very carfully and run in packs for saftey. The USCG in NewPort and Depoe Bay are the best. We have trained our selves on having good electronics and safety gear so we don't have to use these fine fella's unless we are in peril which also means we try not to put our selves in bad situations intentionaly. We have a Coast gaurd appreciation day every year and this gives good comerodery between them and the sport boats. Our motto Leave no Dog behind. |
