Sir,
You've probably discussed this on some other link but I couldn't find anything. But, what is the purpose of reversing the second guide?
Thanks,
Jim

actually the first guide is reversed,By USA standards. there are alot of foreign builders who build the rod with the guides facing that way. Possibly for THAT rod the extra bracing Behind the ring would give it more.stability/durability.

I noticed on the site that some of the smaller planers come in black, why not the larger ones. That would prevent us from having to paint them

The reason he had the eye reversed was when you trip the planer and the dacron whips anound you don't want it to catch or hang up. The quicker the line goes through the better your odds of the planer tripping. Course nothing is going to help with a bushel of weeds on it. Had mine for a couple years, in fact the I got the first Death from above, It's a meat machine/winch, not much sport in it but it puts the meat in the box.

Hi Capt. D,

We do not have any black planers on our site at this time.
All of our Planers are 18-8 Satin Finish/Stainless Steel.

We do this for 3 reasons.

1. Some guys like forest green planers and some like black.
It allows the fisherman to make the choice or change
the color themself.
2. 18-8 non corrosive & non tarnishing highest quality stainless steel does not adhere paint well. It wears right off in the salt after some use.
3. During shipping the planers would scratch eachother,
and would not look well hanging from retail shelves.

We are looking into other ways though to darken our
Planers.

Thanks & Good Fishin'

Hi Captain,

We have tested powder coating, the one thing though bad about that is we could only powder coat the Planers Blade.
NO Powdercoat manufacturer will touch the lead.
We have tested powder coating in house in our manufacturing facility, but we're are also looking into some thing totally different.
All your ideas are valuable to us, keep them coming.

Happy Thanksgiving To ALL,
