Green Green Green Special

There is a phenominal thread on the board here concerning the color green and its effects down deep. Traditionally the colors for wahoo on the planer have been darker, blues, purples, black and reds. But there have been some good arguments for green. So I thought It would be a good idea to test the waters with our Green Matanza. For a limited time I will have the Green Matanaza available in a 3 pak for $23.99. That is $2.00 off each. Give it a shot and let us know the results. Click on the Matanza Link to order your 3 pak at the special price.

Thanks
Bill

I prefer to rig it with a # 8 or #9 Wire and an 8/0 hook and tie down with either monel or rubber band. There are some rigging videos on here that show how but I will have to find it. But if you see the construction you will get the idea on how to rig it. The trick to the Matanza is all in the head. It is about a 2 1/4 head but Cowboy can tell us the exact wieght and has a Bell shape but the top half of the bell is cut off. So it is in essence a self chin weighted rig.

Then we take a self taped strip of mylar and wrap it around the waist of the bell and ad a dab of some secret glue that Cowboy uses (I just prefer not to ask )

Then we take the green skirt and slip it over the bell also with a dab of glue.

When properly rigged with a med/lg ballyhoo - it is positively deadly on the planer. But folks like Capt Shane and Capt Jake on the matador have found it to do well on the long riggers and waybacks with no planer. Cowboy says that it was his number 1 bluefin bait this year. But he may be a little biased.

The Squidnation Product head is 100% made in the US along with the mylar and the complete assembly. The skirt is imported.
