Rocket Launcher Attachment to small chair
Streamweaver, I have a smallish cockpit, and was looking for an inexpensive chair with rodholders. Since it is mainly family fishing on the boat, my wife likes the comfort of the chair when fighting a fish. I came up with this idea of buliding a chair mounted rocket launcher to fit our small pompanette chair.
Used a sheet of 3/4" Starboard, stainless hardware, and inexpensive rod holders. Looked real hard at Marty's videos to determine how to best shape the starboard. Dremel does the job! Hardest part was designing a heavy-duty bracket to match the existing lines of chair, while still allowing cushions to be used as before (wife likes cushions ). I bought some 1/2" by 3" flat aluminum, and had a local welder angle it for me (75 degree), to match existing lines of chair. After that it's bolt it all together.Attaching a couple of pictures of the finished product, finally installed today. Marty's rigging bucket fits perfectly. Again it matched my requirements(small, additional rod holders, strong, inexpensive). Hope this may give you some ideas. Last edited by kcummin; 05-02-2005 at 12:08 AM. |
