For Sale 1978 Phoenix 29 Sportfish. This is my parents boat, and I am helping them sell it. Repowered in 2004 by Carey Diesel, Dover, DE with 200 HP Daewoo Diesels with low hours. She was repainted three years ago. She has a Furuno 7’’ NavNet, with Radar, Northstar GPS, Full Bridge Enclosure, Sleeping for Six, Outriggers, Dripless Shaft Seals, Full Head, and Galley and much more. What sort of cruise speed and WOT speed do you see with her? Also, what sort of fuel burn with those speeds? How large of fuel tanks? Are they aluminum or fiberglass? What is the draft on the boat? How are the transmissions? My father is in the market for a small sportfish.

I have not ran the boat in a couple of years but she cruises 24/25Kts, top out around 30KTS. I am not sure what she burns off the top of my head. She holds 260 gal, alum. tanks. The transmissions were new at repower. She drafts 2'-4".

These boats are great fishing boats. My good friend owned a 1983 29 Phoenix just like her. He repowered w/ gas motors 3 years ago and then sold her. He now owns a 1985 35 ft Bertram and just repowered her w/ brand new diesels.

I'm looking to upgrade. My buddy now keeps his boat down Ocean City year round He told me this fall that he would not be fishing the chesapeake any more because it cost too much too bring her home for only 2 months of spring trophy fishing. We have fished the MSSA for the last 6 years on his boat and now we are stranded

I own a 1992 23 FT. C-HAWK CC with a 2006 150 Yamaha 4 stroke on the back of her and also completely tore out old floor and put in new one. The only problem is I have a crew of 5 for the MSSA and its not big enough.
I was lucky to book a hotel room @ herrington harbour for the 2008 MSSA Spring Tourney, so I'm still fishing but with a 8 rod spread I will only allow 4 including myself on the boat.

I would be interested in her. I can keep my boat for trailering and keep the phoneix in my slip?

The only problem is your price is a little steep for this boat. After research and speaking to some people its value is more like 23 to 25 k

Also it would be tough to find financing?

Thanks for your interest in the boat. But I would buy them all day in the $20's if they have been repowered, and upgraded like this boat. I am not saying we will not consider an offer but there needs to be a "3" to start it. As for financing, getting this boat financed for the amount we are asking will not be a problem. Trident funding in Annapolis Lisa (Didominaco 410-280-9199) can do the financing with no problems. Any bank will take into consideration the repower, paint, newer electronics, and other upgrades. There are not too many twin diesel boats on the market that have been repowered (not rebuilt), and upgraded for this kind of money. I agree with the repower. Go to yachtworld.com and do search for phoenix and you will see what I mean. There are alot on this site.

But my real research is my buddy sold his1983 29 ft. with new gas motors for 30k even and the boat was completely redone inside and the cockpit was all new alwgrip and paint. I should have bought it then , but I was not ready.

His boat was 5 yrs newer and complete refurbished. Also look how long Phoenix boats on yacht world have been up for sale. There are many nice refurbished boats for 29,000 that are newer than yours.


Price would need to be @ 25,000 or lower for me to take interest. The motors are a plus but not worth the extra 15,000. If I was to purchase I would spend another 10K on redoing the inside etc...
