AS FAR AS THE VENTURE>> HAVE BEEN LOOKING AT THEM AS WELL.
NOT REALLY INTRESTED IN THE 36' OLD MODEL THAT I HAVE HEARD WILL BE RETIRED IN THE NEAR FUTURE TO THE NEW 37', THE 38' (LETS LEAVE IT AS NOT FOR ME!!) THE 33T OR THE 31T ARE THE 2 CONTENDERS I DO SEEM TO LIKE. I HAVE BEEN ON ONE 33T BEFORE TRIP 250S AND ENJOYED THE RIDE. HAVE NOT BEEN ON THE 31T BUT LOOK FOWARD TO A RIDE ON THIS IN MIAMI
SEEMS LIKE ALL THE BOATS I WILL LIKE TO RIDE ON WILL BE AT MIAMI. SO I WILL JUST BE GETTING A HEAD START WITH AC.
I have yet to see or hear twin 350 @ 65 to see that your either going to have a VERY light load or some major fine tuning, or a lake. Top speed with a trip 250 I have seen is 63.

With a twin 350 boat you will see approx 3mph less than a trip 250 boat and about a .1 difference in burn across the board.

Trip 300 Verado 33T will turn up 72 with prop work still in progress

36 to a new 37 that is new one and not happening. Not trying to bust chops but its not true. I was giving you performance on it just to give you an idea with the 33t everything will be better across the board with the 33t.

I think the main idea Yamaha had in mind behind the 350 is not to use them as trips but more of an alternative to having trips, there are quite a few people that would never own trips. Twin 350's vs trip 250's saves you approx 10-13k on the boat plus the additional fuel or maintenance. I also believe it puts your insurance in a different category on top of it.

A twin 250 33t would not be underpowered considering it turns up 53ish loaded out, but to most its just not enough.

Any how stop in and say hello we should have a couple factory guys at the show too. Look forward to meeting you.

MARY 65 WAS GALLONS PER HR. AS FAR AS THE SPECS THANK.

I KNOW OF 2 33T WITH TWIN 350S AND THEY TOP OUT AROUND 60 TO 61 AS FAR AS TRIP 250S THE ON I WAS ON DID RITE AROUND THE SAME.. (THESE ARE REAL WORLD SAW WITH MY OWN EYES ) SOMETIMES AS WE BOTH NO MANUFACTURES AND SPEC SHEETS LIE.....
AS FAR AS TRIP 300 VRODS I REALLY DONT THINK CONTENDER SHOULD BE USING THEM. I HAVE HEARD IN THE PAST OF CONTENDER HAVING SOME ISSUES RIGGING THEM. BUT THESE WERE GENERATION 1 MOTORS THAT HAVE HAD OTHER ISSUES AS WELL.BUT THE TRIP 300S WILL DEFINATLY BE A SCREEMER. NO DOUBT
I GUESS WE WILL HAVE TO WAIT AND SEE. ON THE NEW 36' IT MIGHT NOT BE CALLED THE 37' BUT IT WILL BE A NEW HULL DESIGHN IN THE FUTURE. THIS IS THE ONLY BOAT NOT YET CHANGED SO IT IS A MATTER OF TIME. BUT LIKE I SAID LETS WAIT AND SEE.

AS FAR AS A TWIN 250 BOAT....IN THE 33T MODEL NO WAY!IT MAY NOT BE UNDER POWERD BUT IT WOULD BE A WHITE ELEPHANT ON RESALE! IMO NO ONE WOULD WANT IT, UNLESS THE PRICE TAG WAS LOW ENOUGH TO ADD THE THIRD MOTOR.

THANKS MUCH AND LOOK FOWARD TO SAYING HELLO AT THE SHOW.

Contender knows how to and will be happy to rig any of their hulls with Mercury Verados. The new FishDancer 33T is currently being built at the Contender factory and she will be rigged with twin 300 Verados. White on white color scheme, black rub rail, T-top and bootstripe will be nicely offest by the 'Phantom Black' 300 Verados. Twin application of 300 Verados will be nearly 350 pounds lighter than Y 350s (804 - 635 = 169 x 2) and trips more than 500 pounds lighter. Overall the performance should be very close between V 300s or Y 350s considering the hp:weight ratios regardless of twin or trip applications. Another advantage is that the Verados come with DTS and power steering as a standard feature.

That will definetly be a nice package. hp to weight ratio is definetly there... I wold love to see the set up with 350s little more weight but they are still yamis.. I had the gen 1 275s and all i can say was never again...

good luck and keep us posted on how she runs.

    Sorry for the delayed response....

Yeah the 33t that I delivered earlier in the year had no windshield, no enclosure, no bottom paint, full 400 on fuel and turned 63.

Contender did not have any issue riggging them, it was the dealers that serviced them. If the dealer did not know thier arse from a whole in the ground you were screwed. Just because a dealer could work on Yamaha didn't mean that they were good with Verado or even ETEC for that matter.

Gen 1 also was a manufacturer's problem since corrected by Gen 2 and Gen 3 the 300's

If you go from a trip 250 boat to a twin 350 boat you save 10-15k on the build thats a whole lotta gas $$$. For the added comfort of getting back to the dock if one is to go down. We are mounting a spare set of props in the console with a prop wrench and block to change the wheels out if a problem was to arise that way you can still do 30kts +/- home with one motor.

We had a 36 open with trip 275's that lost a motor in the WMO a few years back and I brought a set a props down so they could still fish the 3rd day. Not sure what he ended up turning up but the boat was ran back to Manasquan after the tourney so it couldn't of been that bad, well it probably was

The new center is a few years out and the 36 will still be in production in to that time and after

Looking forward to seeing you at the show.
