    25' SeaCraft $15,000

    $15,000
I have been told by my father to try and sell our boat as is. Some of you guys know that it sank back in August while sitting in the slip at Marina Bay. The boat will need some work and probably new engines but my asking price reflects that.

This would be a great opportunity for someone looking to move up into a great offshore rigged and very capable boat. On August 19, 2010 this boat sank up to its gunwales while at the dock. The boat was submerged up to the gunwales for 3 hours and then raised and pumped out by Tow Boat US. I had the marina mechanics try and save the motors and they were able to get them to run but not for any extended period of time. The boat was completely rinsed with fresh water and allowed to dry out. The electronics stayed above water and are still in great working condition.

    Boat Description:
1998 SeaCraft 25' powered by twin 200 Mercury Optimax engines. Bright Red hull recently painted within the past 3 years. Full tower with buggy top and second set of controls. Full enclosure, all new pumps installed in 2009, Macerator in fish box, Raw-water pump, and Live well in and out pumps. 18' double rigged outriggers, more rod holders than you will ever need (I counted 16 today). Bennett hydraulic trim tabs. This is a proven Bluefin tuna raiser. Has trolled up and landed many nice tuna with this boat over the past 2 seasons. I just had the hours pulled off the engines as well and they both have just over 1100.

    Electronics include:
2-VHF radios and 2-16' Digital antennas (Raytheon Ray 210 VHF & Standard Horizon Quantum GX3500S VHF)
1-Foruno color fish finder (Furuno FCV 582L)
Raytheon 16 mile radar and color GPS with local chip (Raytheon RL 70C)
    1- back-up Raytheon GPS (Raytheon RC 520)

One of the two scupper Flapper valves failed. The pin holding the flapper in the scupper let go and since they drain below the waterline it let water in instead of out. Kind of a shock but at least it happened at the dock and not a week earlier when I was with family 45 miles out surrounded by sharks fishing.

Agreed ... scary stuff. Good luck with the sale. Sounds like a great deal for someone.

Yes water made it up to the bus board. The marina did their best to rinse the salt out of the boat but I would assume that some rewiring would have to take place. We believe the issues with the engines not running for extended periods of time has to do with wire corrosion.
