Of all the innovative hull designs now on the market, Larson's patented Delta Conic is one of the most impressive. High-lift hulls are nothing new to this Minnesota builder, as the original Delta Conic principle was introduced more than a decade ago. In simple terms, the Delta Conic design starts with a sharp bow of a deep-V hull, adds wide chines for lift, then tapers to a flatter section at the stern. This hull shape allows the boat to plane quickly with less power and increases stability when running or turning. This performance allows the builder to offer an exceptionally wide range of power options, beginning with a thrifty 3.0-liter four-cylinder. The other innovative feature of the 206 can't be seen, but it is expected to increase the boat's strength and durability. Larson calls it the Americore II composite system; it involves the use of a new type of composite-knit fiberglass fabric that that is equal in strength to two separate layers of conventional materials but requires 10-percent less resin. The 206 is designed for maximum versatility and interior room. The bow shape not only softens the ride, but also creates more floor space forward. The main cockpit is designed for maximum legroom, but ample space has also been reserved for storage. Three seating arrangements are available, including standard back-to-back lounges with aft jump seats, a Sport Interior with forward bucket seats and a rear bench, and a new wrap-around U-shaped rear seat.
