I like the 10ft. Tsunami, Penn 550 ssg. Nice and light. You don't have to break your back while casting.

the last couple of years I have been hitting the outer banks pretty hard! I have been fishing with a Hatteras Jacks built on a cape fear blank that I love, and recently had a Cape Point custom built. These rods have a great backbone for heaving, but still boast a very sensitive tip!! They will also layout any custom wrap that you can think of- I had them spin mine with purple and gold (ECU grad here)- It is an incredible custom rod for half the price of most built in Buxton!!!

Using mud minnows, I catch just about anything thats hungry, or not!
    Kingpin,

On your mx, is it the mc design? What are you spooled up with?

    Thanks

    I really like my Lamiglas XS10MS with a VS200 for surf-fishing ocean-side.

More bay side stuff is usually handled by a Lamiglas Arra 1084-2 with a Cabo 50 on it.

Chunking (depended on weight needed) is either a Tsunami Airwave 10MH spinner with a Baitrunner 6500B, or a 10' Shakespeare Ugly Stik conventional attached to an Abu 7000 tweaked by Jerry Foran.

If you told me I needed to choose one setup overall? It'd probably be the Lami XS10 with the VS200.

    RODS

Well ? Guess being in Calif. surf fishin without big gun poles
and heavy line might be strange to some ? But in the summer
months it is decent Halibut fishin with just an 8.6 Shimano
Clarus and 8lb. line !!! Caught a 34in Halibut off "Bolsa Chica"
    State Beach on such a set-up !!!

    Favorite rod & reel

11' Lamiglas GSB-132-2b with Perfection and Fuji guides, Fuji reel seat & neoprene foam grips worked well for me along with a Penn 850SS. 'Did a lot of rock & jetty casting artificials for Blues & Bass with this package. I am 71" tall with a 35" arm length.
