Lee - I went back to the archives in response to Scattered Grass' success with the Gulp rigged weedless and found this post.
A few questions:
What size hooks do you use with the DOA and Bass Assassain paddle tail baits?
Does that weight crimp onto the hook, or come already on it?
Is there a particular manufacturer that you prefer for this?
As a jighead guy, I could use some direction.
PR,I use 4 and 5 ought with both baits.
The weights are a crimp on stile that comes on the hooks but you can by the weights in sizes you wish to use up to 3/8oz and in colors as well. I have tried other hooks for this but go back to these Daiichi "butt daggers" hooks...
One more thing, I like to slid the weight to the back of the hook as it helps to make it ride more "flat" when retrieved.
This and the "Johnson's silver minnow in gold are my 2 "go to" Red Drum bait in shallow water...
very cool; Lee.
thanks

I've never fished a paddle tail upside down.
