What to catch as a surf fisherman?

Hey guys, heres my story.
Im pretty much a fisherman just for the game and the fun, but my family likes to cook and eat fish, so I was wondering what the best fish to catch would be to eat while fishing either off the pier or surf in the Port Aransas area. I know Cobia are more or less migratory but some are always in the surf. They're great eating. They return from their summer grounds around December and leave in March and April. They often follow the rays.

If you see the rays chances are the Cobia are there too.
