    Wetsuit?

I got really into kayak fishing the ocean this summer, but now that it is fall/winter I'm pretty nervous to take it out without the right equipment. I'd like to invest in a wetsuit but really don't know what I'm looking for? Any suggestions?

You will want something with good movement in the arms so you can paddle easy. What temperature water are you going to be in?
We sell O'Neil suits, you would want to look at the surf line as they are built with super stretchy neoprene so they are very comfortable to wear when doing high active sports.

    Cold but not freezing

I don't plan on being out there in freezing cold weather, but would like to get out there on 40+ degree days. What would a moderately inexpensive suit cost. Also, would you recommend a hooded one? Thanks for the input.

When I am in the water in the winter, I surf with a O'Neil psycho II. They are one of the best suits out there. They have glued seams so water will not get in and some of the stretchiest material on the market. Now you can get a 3/2 or a 4/3 depending on temps. I use a 4/3 when IN the water. Since you will be on top, a 3/2 should be fine in case you go over. You could also get a warm farmer john that will cover your legs and chest(tank top) keeping your core warm. It will also allow you to have greater range of motion while casting and paddling. Since you will be doing a lot of moving and making heat, I think the FJ is the way to go. Just wear a waterproof jacket and you will be set.
