Took advantage of a weather window this week and hit the road with the boat in tow. Drew and I met up with George and launched the boat just before sunset, and cruised to our spot in calm seas and began looking for fish.
10 weights, intermediate line, and a heavy clouser proved to the be the ticket for these fish. The biggest were 36-38" and nice and fat. Definitely two handed fish. I try not and use a net to keep from harming the C&R fish, and it was a chore to get a few of them over the gunnels. I definitely have a case of striper knuckle and slimy coat.
It was a good night on the water w/ plenty of catch and release action.
What a great night! You and you buddies had a super fishing. They must of been so excited. Great fishing, great weather. Bet no one got any sleep when they got home. I know I would be bouncing off the walls.
You are killing me. I am dying for things to warm up so our fishing will start. Seeing those great fish gets me even more worked up.
Pick a Friday and I am in. That way I won't have to work the next day. Or...you may just have to convince me to take 2 days off. I am definately in for that!
Sorry we couldn't get out this weekend but the season hasn't even started warming up yet. I am sure that there are plenty of fish out there with our name on em.
Looks like your alternet plan B was a nice way to fill in the time.
