    The weekend wrap up

I had an itch to fish and just had to scratch it, decided I had anal glaucoma on friday and pulled a nooner.....there was no way in hell I could see my azz wasting the day at work....so I pointed the truck south and headed to the beach. I decided to try cape may and sling some clams friday night, it was windy and nasty.....I ended up loosing a black drum that was probably around 40 lbs when my newly "repaired" penn craptiva live liner got turned into a bail-less reel

I hit some bridges on the way back up north and there was not much going on besides bluefish chewing up expensive plastics

I met Scottie at the ramp around 5:30, the plan was to sling some clam for stripers and fish the outgoing tide for flounder since it was opening day. We had a beautiful morning.....first trip out on the water this year and the sun rising over the bay never gets old.

We made our way to the area we wanted to fish, and came across a pair of ospreys doing their thing.

Plenty of jumbo dogs and skates

And then we got covered up by plenty of these.....hey tailors arent bad eating and make nice strip baits for flounder fishing, after a few for the box and a few bite offs we made a little wiggle and set them back out.

    ......to be continued.

    part 2

That little wiggle was a good call, Scottie puts some meat in the box with the first drum of the season.....in a most unlikely spot none the less.

We ran in and picked up the boys around 10 to flounder fish, Scott, myself, Geno "the hat boy" and Bunky set off to find some flat fish....It was a touch crowded.

We wrapped up the day with a few games of shoes and a few cold beers.

    Until we had a casulty

After a good dinner and a few more frosty ones, we settled down and enjoyed just being down at camp again.....a great weekend that was much needed.
