US OPEN KING MACKERELY TOURNAMENT

I am not sure how many King Mackerel Tournament fishermen we have on here but Next Friday and Saturday is the US Open in Southport. This may be the largest KMT now with over 500 boats every year. First place is a guaranteed $25000 plus calcutta. It has over $100,000 it total prizes. It pays thru 55 places pluse a multitude of special weight prize money. The thing I like about this tournament is you don't have to have a go fast boat to be competetive since this time of year the big kings are usually caught close to shore. The entry fee is only $300 and $100 for the TWT. Once again this year I will give a report with photos(I will try the auto focus in case my vision is blurry). So post up if you are going to be there. Yeah - the River Channel will be stacked like cordwood with almost anything that floats. The weigh in is usually quite amusing - some pretty good odds on someone inadvertently getting creeked...
