Most of the fishing that I do is fly fishing for trout in the streams of central and western Maryland. I'm lucky enough to live within 40minutes of a hand full of decent trout streams. And since I don't have a boat, trout fishing is my go-to sport.
So...most of my winter fly tying revolves around tying dozens of wolly buggers and nymphs to use throughout the spring and summer. Up until now though, I have never ventured to tie any dry flies. But, in my infinite wisdom (or in my desire to punish myself) this winter I went out a bought a couple whiting 100s hackles and a box of size 16 dry fly hooks.
So far, the supplies are still in the drawer of my fly tying table but I am thinking I might give it a go. Does anyone have any tips? Or should I just enjoy myself and tie some nice clousers or something on a 2/0 hook?

Paul, best thing I can tell you is to get a good pair of magnifying glasses, I gave up on stuff that small couple of years ago. # 8 long shank is as small as I go now...
