Top Water Reds ..........

Capt. Joey Pal took me to a honey hole he's been catching Reds on topwater over the last few days.
I'm fishing with a MirrOlure Top Dog Jr., red head white body, ( a Capt. Lee's favorite ).
First cast hits the water, gets slammed but no hook up, pulled it away & it wasn't long before he's one it again. Ended up with 3 blow ups & no hook ups. Getting ready for my second cast & then it happens. The winds kicks in & the sky is turning angry.
Fishing in the 25 knots winds, with thunder storm setting in on us & a few lightning strikes in the distance. Was enough to force us to take shelter from the storm. But we can to fish & are determined to catch some Reds on topwater. So we put on our rain gear & back out we go.

Capt. Joey stuck with a small Badonkadonk with upgraded hooks & caught 4 Reds on it, ( 1 on a swim bait when the bite slower down ).
I'm still getting blow ups with Reds throwing wakes behind my lure but no hook ups. It's frustrating to watch someone else catching & fighting Reds, while I changing out lures. And in my frustration I sped up my topwater on the next blow up & get hooked up. Yes!, broke the code. Ended up catching 2 Reds on a Rapala Skitterwalker.

Had a wet morning of fishing with a good friend. Thanks ....... ICM
